We arrived in Leigh Creek like a flash of Lightening! Oh that is lightening and what is that wet stuff with it. Rain, all 2 inches / 50 mm of it. All the roads were closed until Thursday afternoon.
They opened the Birdsville Track to four wheel drives, but locals advised against going as they said it would be slippery and slow. We took their word and abandoned out trip and went home. Just as well, the Strezlecki track remained closed for another week!
