about my Honda NT650V Deauville Road Bike. I
bought a brand new Honda NT650V Deauville in April 2003. Honda’s sleek, stylish and convenient mid-sized Deauville delivers a versatile combination of style, performance, reliability and carrying convenience. Powered by a 647cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine, and featuring an innovative integrated fairing design, the Deauville is well equipped to handle everything from highway rides to inner city commuting. In addition to the 43.5 litres of carrying capacity between the Deauville’s two panniers, I have added a top box which will hold 2 helmets. The Deauville’s strong yet lightweight twin-spar steel frame wraps around the slim V-twin engine to provide agile handling and reassuringly neutral control. Its rigid and responsive 41mm front fork combines with a heavy-duty single-shock rear suspension system to assure a comfortable, well-controlled ride for one or two. Furthermore, the rear damper’s spring preload can be easily adjusted by way of a large remote control knob that provides a quick and efficient response to changing load requirements. The Deauville has also been equipped with a simplified version of Honda’s proven Combined Brake System. The system features a pair of CBS 3-piston callipers mounted to the front fork, and a conventional dual-piston calliper at the rear. This system ensures at least some front brake operation is engaged during any and all braking manoeuvres, while providing a greater proportion of front brake input during instances of unusually forceful rear/foot brake operation. If
versatility, style, functionality and all round performance is what
you seek in a motorcycle then the Deauville may also just be the
bike for you.
