Offer of a volunteer for MYOB work experience and on the job bookkeeping training

OFFER: (March 2004) I wish to provide half to one day a week of unpaid bookkeeping duties to a Small Business in return for receiving some on the job training and work experience with MYOB and basic bookkeeping and accounting

• Half to One Day a week of an unpaid resource
• Increase the pool of Bookkeepers availiable to small business in Melbourne
• Potentially receive a side benefit of a free web site (small) for your business or a labour saving software utility
• Assist a fellow Australian in skill broadening now that there is a trend towards relocating the Australian Information Technology industry off-shore

• Completed 'Introduction to MYOB V11plus' Course - Holmesglen TAFE (2001)
• Completed 'Certificate IV in Business Administration' - (2002)
• Can provide pro-bono services in web or software development and network administration and support
• Can provide as a referee the owner of a Legal Firm who will verify that I will be a trustworthy short term staff member

I am a member of the Melbourne PC User Group and an writing to the MYOB SIG to explore wether are any opportunity's for an unpaid work experience roles with any of the members of your SIG.

Having completed a short course in MYOB at Holmesglen TAFE (2001) and also a Certificate IV in Business Administration (2002) I am now looking for a work experience role which would involve hands-on bookkeeping using MYOB. This would be with a view to getting sufficient credible work experience that could potentially allow me to gain part-time employment in a entry level bookkeeping role.

If anyone in your group is interested in an unpaid bookkeeping resource for say half or one day per week for a limited period and are willing to provide some instruction in MYOB, basic bookkeeping and accounting principles then please ask them to contact me via e-mail in the first instance. I can provide employment references as required.

My normal occupation is in Information Technology but I am looking to broaden my employment\business options by picking up some marketable skills in Bookkeeping and Accounting. As a side benefit I would be willing to develop a small software utility(s) pro-bono if I happen to see someway of improving a business process at the Business that generously offers to host me as a work experience candidate.
