Modifications 

Over the 35 years I have owned my Sprite I have made many small modifications  to make it safer and more easier to drive in modern traffic.My car is not a concourse car but  all modifications have been made so that it can be returned to standard .

Body and appearance

The body is standard apart from the rear mudguards being pushed out slightly to fit the 5.5 inch mag wheels

Wheels & Suspension

Wheels: these are 5.5 x 13 " Hotwire Mags with 165/70 x 13" Pirelli P3000 radials (replacing  the widened steel wheels the previous owner had fitted when they cracked around the stud holes)

Rear Panhard rod --fitted to prevent the tyres scrubbing on the rear guards and also improves the handling

Front MG Midget swaybar

Telescopic rear shock absorbers (one of the best modifications done --improves the ride )

Engine & gearbox

Original  1098 cc engine with a few modifications -- bored (+.060 ),balanced , mildly modified head , high lift camshaft and fitted with extractors

Competition diaphram clutch

Gearbox --Standard MG Midget

Standard Sprite Radiator and fan with a small thermatic fan  to help keep the engine cool in traffic

Heater --Triumph Herald

Electrical

Lucas Alternator

QH Headlights ,Driving lights ,rear reverse light  (relays installed for Headlights and Driving lights)

Fuse box replace with modern Blade type fuses and extra fuse boxes installed  for acessories

Very load  air horns

Interior

Extra gauges  --- Voltmeter & Vacuum
