The Linux and Open Source Special Interest Group (SIG) meets at the Melbourne PC User Group Chadstone Meeting Rooms. Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month, except for January, normally starting at 7.00 pm and running to approximately 9.00 pm. Please see the Meeting Calendar web page for up to date details.

The SIG is a Linux based group, exploring Linux at various levels from beginner to advanced, including server based solutions. It also looks at Open Source applications for platforms that include Linux, BSD, Mac and Windows.

We aim to have a mix of Q & A, demonstrations and workshops. Presentations will mostly be oriented towards demonstrating applications from the Open Source world. Activities will be developed over time and be in response to the interests of regular attendees, and will include topics of interest to both beginners and those with some experience. We intend to hold workshops to help all levels of users.

We usually have a pre-meeting "Hands on Help" session - more details here
