Margaret Weis teams up with Don Perrin for this three part series, it follows the exploits of a what would appear to be a totally miss-matched group of mercenaries.
Lead by a cyborg, the team consists of an assassin that spends most of his time in a druged daze, the rest of it is spent worrying about his wardrobe, a telepath/empath who is so ugly he has to wear a long coat and hat the whole time and likes to be with the assassin because of his drug induced mellow thought patterns, a pilot, an ex-marine who is the teams heavy weapons specialist, a marksman who is an alien with chameleon like abilities and a resident doctor/gadget guy.
Later they recruit Xris the Cyborgs ex-partner from when he used to work for a government agency as their hacker/computer geek. Funny thing is she used to be a man but had changes made when he/she went into hiding to help pull off a dissapearing act.
I ended up with three diferent sets of cover art with this series and it is interesting to see how Xris' cybernetic arm changes from right to left, and the hacker woman goes from being really un-attractive and blokey to being a hot chick.
The series is enjoyable, a large helping of action with plenty of comic relief provided by the assassin (who incidentally likes to kill people by kissing them with poison lipstick).
