Photographic Works
This section is for my own collection of
photographic works from the early 70's using the Minolta SRT303 SLR with
28mm 50mm and 135mm Minolta Rokkor lenses, I also used the excellent Mamiya
C3 twin lens reflex camera with 55mm / 80mm and 135mm lenses where the subject was more static and required
grain free negatives suitable for Salon size 16 x 20 inch enlargements.
Enlarging was done using a DURST 600 enlarger with
razor sharp 50mm and 80mm Nikon lenses - simply the best optics. Film and
paper was always the superb Ilford FP4 film and Illfobrom glossy paper.
Light readings for serious shots (Landscapes) was
determined by the Weston model V a long favorite with pro photographers it
also lends itself to the
Zone System - a visualization adopted by none other
than the great Ansel Adams of California and undoubtedly the master of black
and white. The capture of a scene with the subject, light, composition,
exposure and final printing was and still is a unique art form.
