A kind of wordart version of 'May You Be Well & Happy'     A kind of wordart version of 'Om Namah Shivaya'

My Journal

A spinning prayer wheel

May 1 & 2, 2001   '

Some links prompted by the past couple of days ... {Some time on the web looking up various things that arose in discussions}

Adriana Rocha

MIXED reviews!

Polar bears & goldfish!

Yet it was not in that bunch - here is the page we saw on what COULD be my last trip to Cowes ... {nobody commented on the Penguins! though the Leunig & Monroe went down well ...}

... has an interesting black adder page ... & a link to a Rowan Atkinson page ... & Red Dwarf

Sense & Sensibility - and a range of titles - kids books - scifi - adventure - fairies etc ...

Narnia - voted in top 5 % of all sites ?? Has a daily quote. Here is May 2nd:

"'Who *are* you?' asked Shasta.

'Myself,' said the voice, very deep and low so that the earth shook: and again 'Myself,' loud and clear and gay and then the third time 'Myself,' whispered so softly you could hardly hear in, and yet it seemed to come from all around you as if the leaves rustled with it."

www.jamesvanpraagh.org - from Google search of 'soul is a stack of past lives' which the top listed 'hit' was skepdics ... haven't given it more than a cursory examination thus far ...

Hmmmmm!!!! felt like posting weird fact of the day code to forum for a lark ... well message # 59877 from a desperate woman in australia who has "I have been stuck in a ditch since the day I was born and can't get out. I've done so many self help techniques it's not funny but still my life is a miserable disaster. Do you think some people are just doomed to be permanently poor and miserable?" ... and eliminate 'bad people' from her life ... plus get a support network ... and are some people doomed ... and not wanting to die this miserable ... took my flippancy RIGHT away ... I have know such despair & resignation & I cannot begin to 'explain' or map out ... and it's still erratic ... what CAN you say ... what WILL others say ... hmmm ...

... suggest The Golden Key ... or a stroll around my site ... I mean there are literally hundreds of links I myself have barely given even a surface exploration ...

here is another result from the google search of phrases in the Adri book ... 'why am i here on earth' ... GOOD question ... 'soul fragments & lost souls' ...

... plus mentions some beautiful & profound CD's ...

PLUS! some unique advice on getting drunk!!!

plus 'if you do lose your way' ... may help vesna ?? ... every time that comes up I ... well, it is coloured by the events of my own journey and it's HARDLY as if I reached a lowpoint and 'decided' to transform myself ... and if each suggestion is just seen as yet another 'self help' technique ... hmmm ... would one describe Buddhism as a self-help technique ... I suppose one could ... and YET, the initial 'transformation' I experienced seemed to come from 'outside' rather than from within ... so who am I to give ANYONE advice ...

The more I read it ... Geoff ... 'If we master every condition we place on love' ...

... and 'The person now standing in front of us is a mirror image of what we need to look at within ourselves' ...

... and mentions twenty-three chapters of his latest book online called 'Heart & Soul Healing' ...

"Let's face it. if this IS all there is, there's no point discussing ANYTHING because it's so monstrously arbitrary & unfair what would be the point ..." ... that's IF ...

soul fragments lost souls ...

Soul retrieval - well worth a read! the cached copy ... if that link 'dies' ... soul5.htm

Listening can be difficult

and I plug that leunig phrase into google ... but what IF you genuinely are NOT interested in the nonsense spewing from someone's mouth (and thus their mind) ... does 'faking' interest help them? I would think not. And let's face it, at this point in human history with the warped focus in this modern society most of what does issue from the mouths of people is basically crap ... and the only ones ... Geoff ... well ...

{and what comes out of people's mouths is generally an accurate reflection of what is rattling around in their minds}

... and if nobody feigned interest they'd have no 'audience' and thus be forced to fill their minds with something more uplifting than the usual trivia & opinions & judgements etc ... and thus end up not NEEDING an audience ... makes sense to me, anyway ...

STILL tons & tons in sheeets ...

Some notes scribbled down over the two days at Cowes ... www.angelfire.com/wv/geoall/mum666.html

... some of which may get transcribed into here at some stage - some interestin observations about what fosters human happiness & other stuff ...

That clipart we used a few times in the Murmur - the artist at his easel ...

... then I get up and realise ... and read Adri ... and new links telling me 'the same old thing' ... and if "SOULS INVARIABLY LAND WITH GOD" then what am I fussed about ...

"Whenever I see normal people, I just scream and run away."

Ah yes, the Adri notes - WOULD I have picked up "Child of Eternity" if not for the previous night's events ... hmmm ...

[Note: to anyone reading this and feeling perplexed, don't worry. All will be revealed in the fullness of time]

* Page 279! underlined! "I CAME TO THIS LIFE AS A SOUL NEARING COMPLETION. I CHOSE TO RETURN AS A PERSON WITH AUTISM" !!!

* Healing & truth & choice in each moment & people who don't love and what the future holds ...

* {Hey! - after aforementioned email I may NEVER return to Cowes or see the book ...}

* "PRISM YOU CALL LIFE"

* "TOO MUCH FOR LANGUAGE"

* "NOT TO BE JUDGED"

* "SOULS INVARIABLY" - as above

* All in response to 'what do you mean by the word soul' ...

* Plus Jogjakarta & Borobudur & message carved in stone in a grave ...

Seems a pity the book is out of print ... when you look at all the junk that is in printed form polluting and clogging up valuable space in people's minds ...

* Yes, if we all believed it is all CHOICE then judgement, blaming, complaining, gossip would vanish in a heartbeat! ... so why don't we ...

* After reading it - yes, you have the choice - you can fill your mind with thoguhts of God or you can fill it with trivial nonsense and thoughts of judging & blaming & complaining. Only one choice fosters happiness ...

Today's mantra: "In this world, families learn how to love their children from the beginning of the niceness"

Still more on sheets!!! - before it turned a bit sour - El Nino - website on collapse of civilisations - looking at houses - Osho - walk on beach - and the first crystallisation of 'certain choices foster human happiness' ... hmmm ...

Add best of this google search into leunig.htm ? - done

Leunig appreciation comments & sites ?? Here are a few {old} 'unexplained' links - includes wingmakers, which now has an interesting discussion board ... descriptions of multiple universes & the Urantia book ... good stuff ...

... and from the wingmakers site - "For those of you visiting this site for the first time, please be patient with the disclosure I've made related to the WingMakers and their time capsule. This is not an easy story to grasp or to tell. You'll need to be both persistent and patient in your review of these materials. It's taken me over six months to come to terms with the WingMakers and what their story is really all about. It's an enormous story, unlike anything I had ever experienced before. But it's worth the time and effort to investigate it, and if you do, don't be surprised if things in your life take on an entirely new perspective. That's what these materials can enable if you spend the time with them. I hope that you do" - click here for more ... and then click on the image that looks a little like this -

Then Zen Ponderings #428 arrives from the wanderling ... here ... poses the question I have pondered - why eat ...

from that clipart CD - cartoon of girl on bike ...

... then added a couple of {you guessed it} links to Zen Ponderings #428 ...

All this on the walk to & from the shops for the FIRST time this week ...

* Picked up 'Modern ailments, Ancient remedies' - depression - saffron - "If you would at all times be merry"

Poems -

Deja Vu

I was wondering through my lifetime
Without a care in the world
When suddenly I stopped
For a moment

Today's mantra: "My little doctor wishes to perform a variety of sexual antics before me"

Or you might prefer this one - "I used to believe in all the medical distances of life"

{Some people might prefer to replace the word 'distances' with 'decisions'. That's cool. I don't mind.}

Some searches for saffron - afte rskimming through a book called 'Modern ailments, Ancient remedies' ...

Here is the quote about 'If you would at all times be merry, eat saffron' ...

Plus A tonic for depression-worry-fear but it's a place that SELLS the tonic ... hmmm ... then again ...

Web MD - that site also has article that says St John's wort MAY not work ...

More results - here

This page mentions a review of the adri book - plus! alex collier ... mate ...

Posted whimsical 'may the fourth' as 59905 even though it's 'May 3rd' at the Forum ...

"Oh, I reckon he's perfectly FINE just the WAY he is. The LAST thing this world needs right now is another NORMAL person. There's FAR too many of them already ..." {and one day I may say that - probably the same day I **** }

Some interestin advice at Forum - about people who harm us & responding by genuinely wishing them well ...

... reminded me for some reason of that site I found while scouring the web for pics of Ricketts Sanctuary ... where he declares that 'meditation is the answer to all the questions you have ever asked'

Now to the scribbles from Monday & Tuesday -

Collapse of past civilisations - plus other exhibits ...

"No, to be honest, I've often wondered why people post here {the Chopra Forum} what they post here & that includes asking why Geoff posts what he posts ...

It's easy to wear a mask in cyberspace & masquerade as something other than your true self. In real life, I'm actually quite an arsehole but I can pretend to be nice here at the forum and it gives my fragile ego a much-needed lift.

Actually, the main reason I haven't contributed much in recent times is that I'm finding the more I meditate, the less I have to say & the fewer opinions I hold onto. The whole idea of 'discussing opinions' has always seemed a little daft to me anyway. Opinions, by their very nature, are heavily coloured by personal experience. And since human experience is infinitely varied, opinions vary wildly as well. I am interested in jettisoning the few remaining opinions lurking in the dim, dark corners of my mind any day now.

I'm ready to venture into the realm beyond opinion ... of course I could always be wrong ...

"It's quite simple really. As long as you're judging others, you won't be happy. Well, you won't experience profound happiness anyway. It's just not possible."

From a little stroll along the beach at Cowes comes the following ...

- After a while you realise certain roads are just not worth venturing down at ALL. The MAIN one being the path of presuming to hold onto disparaging opinions about the ways other human beings behave etc ...

- On beach! ah! Certain actions foster human happiness and judging your fellow beings AINT one of them. {A few days later - could refine it to refer to FILLING your mind with certain thoughts ...}

Osho - page 92 & taking off the armour - and 'It is easy to see the faults of others ... but one conceals one's own faults as a cunning gambler conceals his dice" - from the Dhammapada. As true TODAY as it was 2500 years ago! ...

Forum? - Actually, I have NO idea of what I'm doing. I just post whatever happens to POP into my tiny little mind whenever I happen to feel the urge to visit this place. In the immortal words of those whacky Monty Pyhton lads, "He's making it up as he goes along."

Namaste

Plus the OLD realisation of just how MUCH of 'ordinary conversation' falls into one of the following categories -

[ Unimportant nonsense

[ Gossiping {defined as discussing ANY person who is not present - generally in a manner that you would NOT do if they were present}

[ Judging (Gossiping almost invariably involves judging)

[ Blaming

[ Complaining

{Which is PRECISELY why I wrote 'Fragments of a conversation', is it not}

... and I do feel GENUINELY sad for people if they cannot FIND within themselves something more HEALTHY to focus their minds and thus their words on ...

... and I often wonder HOW you could ever open up enough eyes & minds to shift this dynamic when the sense is that 'everybosy does it' ...

Plus the compromises people make to maintain the approval & company of like minds ... that sounded better and more fully spelled out in my mind ...

Not to mention the fact that you JUST are NOT going to experience deep peace of mind while doing all of the above ...

And how do you LOVINGLY even begin to point this out to people ... I mean UNTIL the penny dropped for me personally, you could have been Jesus Christ himself and it wouldn't have made a speck of an impact on me ...

Ah ... Mahjong off web?? - solitaire? or the pung/kong version ...

... plus polar bears & Samuel Goldfish ... hmmm ...

Send email to Sonia Gutierrez - about the Adri book ... :) ... the other reviews are worth a read - and the advice - 'to include into our daily thoughts' ...

Poem? -

Your average, normal human being
Has such a timid little mind
Which never ventures very far
For the amusement it may find

Now, I realise some may find the above poem somewhat 'offensive'. To these people, might I suggest a couple of things -

(a) Nobody can offend you without your consent

(b) Ultimately, the purpose of your existence is NOT to be normal. Now, this may come as a shock to some of you who might like to think of normality as the apex of human experience. It may be nice and relatively safe and comfortable but that's not sufficient reason to spend your entire life in such a state. Believe me, one day, you'll be extremely grateful that you read these words. Until then, you may feel entirely free to regard me as a weirdo or a lunatic. I don't mind at all. You can;t offend me, but I'd suggest there are better ways of expending mental & emotional energy than even trying to.

(c) Don't take your self so seriously. Lighten up. Go with the flow. Chill out. Relax & unwind.

Brain & Behaviour - from search for brain drawing ...

There are some other neat articles at that site, called 'Serendip' ...

May 5, 2001   '

Why do I listen to 'pop' songs ... 'I need to hear you say you need me all the way' ... that is a contender for the most dysfunctional view of 'love' ever made. But it has countless rivals, unfortunately ...

I am my own waking dream

Namaste

Amazingly ... on that same page is 'Buddha Laughter' which uses the word 'beingness' which was in the first email of that sequence ... hmmm ...

Plus intrstin emails about opinions - a lot of which is VERY tough to convey in conventional tools like language - the seeds of an extended piece? - I mean is it 'opinion' that pleasure is 'better' than pain ... that nirvana is preferable to ignorance - that meditation improves the quality of one's experiences - I would make a major distinction in fact - having opinions about matters beyond on'es own direct personal experience is what gets people into trouble - and at higher levels of consciousness opinions really do evaporate - as do most 'thinking' processes - and forming an opinion is just another movement of thoughts - heaps I never wrote down as i was walking along the creek - is it expressing an opinion to say i prefer those states of consciousness where opinions of any kind just do not form ... hmmm ...

... and if one has spent the vast majority of one's waking hours in ordinary or survival consciousness this probly does sound like mumbo-jumbo ... as it sounded to me barely 26 months ago ... so I don't blame ANYONE who would regard me as crazy ...

- there was also the germ of an idea that the ONLY thing ANYONE is an 'expert' on is their own personal experience - but we just LOVE to extrapolate -

Herb Guide - but some other links incl. prayers for the children, which is well worth a read ...

Intereting histroy of herbology in various parts of the globe

Interesting article on anger - from that 'Visit a random Buddhist site' ... I ran out of time before I could check out www.zencomputer.com

Today's mantra: "I really don't know too many things about my own life"

{Recite this to everyone you meet throughout the day and they may give you lots of smiles and money}

In a really whimsical mood most of the afternoon, in fact ... for the Forum? - Today's mantra is recommended by nine out of ten Dalai Lamas: "My life is a long and boring sequence of random, unrelated events." For best results, use this mantra before and after every meal. Do not attempt to operate any complicated machinery whilst you are chanting this mantra. And keep out of the reach of children. You never know where they've been or what they've been up to.

{Could also post 'Paper Thoughts' to Forum - or at least include it in the excerpts from The Everyday Meditator ...

Flicking through that book 'Apocalypse Wow' by James Finn Garner ... one section mentions a mystic called Jose Arguelles and what he predicted in 1987 or so about collective consciousness & meditation & planetary alignment ... I like the author's tongue-in-cheek style ... one quick example - 'You might not have noticed much change - still fighting with your family, still want a better job, still need to exercise more etc - but these kinds of things are hard to measure. Planet-wide shifts in consciousness, after all, can be very, very subtle' ...

Getting back to those emails and recent themes - yes, any investigation of the phenomenon of human beings forming {& holding onto} opinions brings up another of those indefinables. Namely, the word 'better'. In the normal course of events, we all tend to take it for granted what the word means along with those other words I listed earlier {or did I? sometimes I think I've written soemthing down when all I've done is toss it around in my mind. Oh well, never mind. }

Anyway ... all of which brings home to me something we need to constantly remind ourselves of - the fact that language describes or represents reality. The finger pointing at the star is not the star itself.

May 6, 2001   '

Had a bit of a google search for Jose Arguelles

Plus ... James Finn Garner's site with 'bonuses' not to be found in his various books ... including nursery rhymes that were omited from 'Politically Correct Bedtime Stories' ...

... which leads me to pat byrnes site - some cute cartoons ... including this one which for some reason ...

send zen computer link as "Link" as 59914 ... {added a bit of spontaneous whimsy as well }

Plus a quote from the site:

"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach him to use the Net and he won't bother you for weeks."

Should send aussie slang link as I used 'squiz' - Larry's Aussie Phrase & Slang Dictionary

or here ...

After that Forum post ... do we ALL want to 'be of one mind' anyway? ... Borg sprituality

In a bit of a poetic mood lately ...

Aren't Insects Fascinating

Human Behaviour

Why don't we recite poems
To the people that we meet
If they're having an ordinary day
It could be just the treat

Why do we need instructions
On how we should behave
Searching for the perfect advice
From the cradle to the grave

At any given moment
We could be sane or crazy
To switch from one to the other
Simply pick up a daisy

A few additions recently to one of my many 'lists of interesting sites' - here ...

Some more emails ... one could easily be the seeds of another piece, with a title like "Why on earth do we write?" ... and contemplating the {seemingly} inextricable web that language weaves around {or within} our {collective} consciousness ... not to mention the {fleeting} nature of human experience ...

Fifteen decisions every day
Make my life so happy and gay

{Could use that as a mantra}

"My doctor tells me that I have a very interesting life"

"Well, I'd be interested to hear ONE example of where people sitting around a table blaming and judging others actually solved ANYTHING." ...

More emails - on the subject of 'why we write' - should paste some bits in here ... Orwell & Moen & Ginsberg & Paper Thoughts ... doublethink link ...

cropped from that Moen article about the 'place' where all human experience is stored - I thought of it in connection with why we write & is it to 'capture' the experience ...

"I am the medical description of life"

Almost forgot ... yesterday was a huge parade - apparently the largest in Victoria's {white} history ... Here

Prayer Wall ... came from a link about Borg - Humans, Machines & God

... just before Zukav ...

One of the other Google results lands me at www.trufax.org, where they ask 'Have you ever wondered why things are the way they are on the planet, and why things have "changed" but remained the same, and why this planet is (and remains) dysfunctional, despite the best of intentions from a great many people?' ... who hasn't ...

{Watching you know who - NOT Gary} - "I just find opinions hilarious. Has there ever been one instance in human history where an opinion has changed ANYTHING except the person's peace-of-mind?" ...

"My life is a baffling series of unconnected moments"

So, I do watch Gary & they were discussing the idea of 'putting yourself in the oter person's shoes' {like that old proverb about the mocasins} ... here's what he said {seemingly} off the top-of-his-head:

"Even if you feel you can put yourself in the full shoes in terms of identifying with or empathising with what they are feeling, still you do not know the complexity of another person. You do not know the innumerable lines of force that are converging in a single moment of anger (for them). You do not know all that is coming to pass. You do not know what is being balanced and what is being healed. You do not know enough to judge another person. And so, when you do judge another person, you create painful consequences for yourself ..."

{The reference to the 'full shoes' meant not just seeing THAT particular situation from the other person's perspective, but really imagining what their entire life & experience & struggles has been like}

It also got me thinking abou that supetramp song with the line 'If you could see the world through my eyes'

{May transcribe more of Gary later, but you know me }

In the meantime, anyone curious enough can click here ... in another part he says he does what I now do - namely, when he sees somebody enraged or being arrogant or macho etc he says to himself 'I know just what that feels like because I used to do it {to} myself'. I was also reminded of that quote in Conversations with God about 'how can I have genuine compassion for something I have not experienced myself' ...

"MIBBSY-DRIBBSY lifetime. Life is always normal."

Another poem? -

My soul is pregnant with a poem
But then my mind decides to roam
Across the bridge that's made of foam
Landing somewhere near Paris or Rome

Yes, read my 'unofficial' journal {you know the one} for some emails - may be worth transcribing bits into here ... about zukav & CWG & my own present lifetime ... and those dreams from the THEMHS conference ...

Supertramp link - here ...

Yes, I'd forgotten most of those lyrics - 'If I can help you, just let me know' & 'Let me show you the nearest signpost, To get your heart back and on the road ' ...

And the actual section I was trying to recall was 'I, as a boy, I believed the saying the cure for pain was love, How would it be if you could see the world through my eyes?' ...

Plus that www.eckharttolle.com recommendation ... and now is all there is ... and yet time seems bloody real while you're watching the transient the ephemeral phenomena & events that transpire at this level of reality ...

... plus that quote from 1984 that 'the best books tell you what you already know'

That Orwell quote ...

Plus doublethink quotes

To cap off a BIG day ... here is a link to that article I had the photocopy of - describing where you go in the afterlife & the place where 'There's a place that holds everything ever thought of or known by any human being who has ever lived. This Education Centre is open to anyone desiring to study there, and access to this information is limited only by the breadth of one's desire to know and one's willingness to explore' ...

Thinking of death - well ... if the motto is 'do unto others' ... if/when I die, I wouldn't want anyone to mourn or be serious & sad ... I've always thought that was a bit ridiculous ... but people don't take kindly to being told their grief is ridiculous ... so it is a bit tricky ...

... and depending on your belief system ... will obviously have a huge impact on how your react to death ...

... and if somebody had 'no idea what to say' I wouldn't take it personally ... or if i did I'd try to see it as a momentary lapse ...

... and if we TRULY believe death is like stepping through a door what on earth is ther to grieve about anyway ...

... or the footsteps ...

But it does raise all kinds of throny questions ... how much of what we say or do is done or said because it's what we believe others want or need or expect ... or to be polite ... hmmm ...

Continuing yesterday's themes ... Yes, where is the karma in a situation where a persons INTENTIONS were to help or console as best they know how yet their ACTIONS or words get misinterpreted 'causing' pain or anger ... where's Solomon when you need him?

www.gmfc.org - heard it advertised, global movement for children? ...

From recent emails - yes, the whole {silly} notion of ownership & copyright - I like what UG Krishnamuti says at his site:

"My teaching, if that is the word you want to use, has no copyright. You are free to reproduce, distribute, interpret, misinterpret, distort, garble, do what you like, even claim authorship, without my consent or the permission of anybody."

Now that's my kind of 'teaching'!

He also says: "If you have the courage to touch life for the first time, you will never know what hit you. Everything man has thought, felt and experienced is gone, and nothing is put in its place."

www.theathletesfoot.com - yes, how few of us bother getting the shoe that FITS our foot type rather than our wallet of our sense of 'style' ...

Gibran on death ??

Gyuto site? - see if updated?

I suppose I could post a follow-up at the forum ... just in case people find my Alex Grey a bit cryptic. I tend to forget that not everyone's mind works quite like mine. What I 'read' into that image is that at the moment of death we are not 'alone' or plunged into oblivion but we are in the company of countless unseen beings who only wish to guide us in our further adventures free of the encumberance of the physical form. Others may see things differently.

Yes, the image on its own without a TITLE may not immediately make it obvious that it is the 'moment' of death ... so some readers may be confused as to why I posted it or what it's all about ...

To cap a big couple of days ... SHINE arrives and some great stuff in it as usual -

* 'A Dream for one world' by Segev Perets - from the Noetic website newsletter

* Some poetry

* 'Spirituality fo UCOL' by Les Mitchell - I ought to transcribe chunks of it ...

- especially the section on 'The Signals that Self-Discovery has begun' ... and page 40 on 'true healing is an active process' ... yes, traditional 'healing' methods in the west encourage passivity in the patient ... it's an excellent article ... I may ferret around on the web to see ... he specifically addresses the spiritual needs of those with a 'diagnosis' ...

plus page 35 on the fact that illness can be the answer to a prayer and a way to discover your sacredness ...

Here is one article by Les Mitchell on spirituality ...

... and just scroll on down to the phrase ''the chosen ones' ... I have written along these lines ... and at-the-time I figured I was the ONLY one so why bother ... and I could fully understand that those who had not BEEN where i had been would regard such statements as sheer madness ...

Pity about the timing as it would have made for excellent reading matter on the plane ... or maybe that's a sign to give it to the ERMHA Newlsetter team ... who knows ...

Here is Segev Perets dream

www.angelfire.com/wv/geoall/carol444.html
... really ought to post bits to forum ... ??

Yet, still my little cogs spin over ... on that question of WHY do we do the things we do ... is it to make the other person feel good {leaving aside the entire question of whether you EVER actually MAKE a person feel anything} ... or to make ourselves feel good for making the 'appropriate gesture' ...

As I said, I hadn't thought of Alex for quite a while until rummaging through one of the countless piles of 'stuff' around my house ... they are fabulous printed on glossy paper ... the ORIGINALS must be even more stunning, you would imagine ... click for the image of the 'moment' of death {as seen through the eye's of Mr Grey - ironic name for such a colourful artist!}

Yet, still the nagging, gnawing question ... why do we need so MUCH re-minding ... why doesn't goodness & kindness & compasssion & forgiveness & gratitude simply flow from us like juice from an orange {to steal an image from 'Emissary of Light'} ... hmmm ...

That Les Mitchell link ... is actually at a site amongst the MANY in my list of
Some interesting mental health sites ... and you forget how much good STUFF is amongst those links. May pay to visit them more ofen ...

... yet, to date, only a TINY percentage of people in the field see it this way ... which is about what you'd expect seeing as how only a TINY percentage of the human population is truly tuned into this stuff ina meaningful way ... and I've often asked why I am one of that tiny percentage and whether it's necessary to go THROUGH something like psychosis to get tuned in ... and less than three years ago if you'd said I would be saying these things and become a vegetarian and develop a deep interest in Buddhism and all other kinds of spirituality and meditation ... I would have said you were a raving lunatic!

A bit more musing & mulling ...

"Its' been tough but I have learned to modify my behaviour. People are such scaredy-cats. They get frightened by anything which goes beyond the pathetic boundaries of normality."

You realise even IF Les is right ... so FEW truly see it that way and the VICTIM mentality is deep and seemingly insurmountable ...

... and following one of those links is a page called ... Health & Healing

... in fact that global vision site - um, like we need a few hundred more links ... :)

59943 ... on a whim ... and yes, it is such a mysterious process ... and you can be carried away & e=vangelical and then deflated when people see it as loopy ...

Yes, along those lines of things you can't do ... you can't make somebody love you ... you can't live somebody elses' life ... you can't take away their misery & pain & insecurity ... or can you ... would you if you could ...

Bride of Chaotica - I agree, it was a very funny and clever episode ...

Another view ...

and another ...

Get your own star trek email pal (& other stuff)

Curiously leads me to this site of Buddhism past & present ... :)

... 'the history of ideas' ... and there is a {wait for it} ... discussion list ... :)

... and here is an interesting collection of Buddhist phrases -

MORE dolphin books than I would ever have imagined ...

That came from followin a few of the MANY wonderful links here

Plus John Lilly

May 11, 2001   '

From yesterday - an even better John Lilly Page is here - www.johnclilly.com

More emails ... penguin fonts and sites and old memories of things that might have been and nearly were ...

www.angelfire.com/wv/geoall/dave666.html

... as always, some of it may wind up in this journal ...

Posted 59953 ... on another whim ... and why not! Those guys do have this irritating habit of taking themselves a bit too seriously at times ...

And if that's not enough reading material for you, try this -

First conference of three beings

I also like the comment at the forum - "You will always encounter resistance if you approach people like they need to be fixed" & "People don't want (or need) to be rescued" ... I'm not sure I entirely agree - I have experienced the victim mentality FIRST hand and I wanted to be rescued. It's just that at the time I thought the world is so fucked up there's no point even asking ...

Some of that John Lilly stuff - like the experiements ON dolphins got my cogs spinning about karma & research and 'justification' etc ...

... send this to forum ?? ...

Here's something else which I reckon is right on the button but would 'upset' many people - "If you're doing it in the hope that you'll be appreciated that is a pretty flimsy motive."

From those emails ... yes, it seems longer ago than it is and I had forgotten just WHAT I wrote in that 'mock survey' ... inspiration can be a funny thing! ... even in adversity ... click to read it ...

"Did you CHOOSE every single aspect of your present personality? ... then HOW can you possibly say it's all choice ..."

... yes, if someone is arguing for example that drug addicts made a CHOICE {Oh, this sounded a lot better before I sat down to put it down on paper - I should be accustomed to that by now} ... basically people love to see their own flaws as unavoidable consequences of experience or 'ingrained personality' but somehow the same luxury is not afforded to others, whose flaws are judged as being character defects or weaknesses they could easily turn around if they had the whatever it takes ... oh, this is such clumsy phrasing ... I can assure you there is a good idea in there under all that verbage ... another way to express it might be to point out that if it were as simple as deciding I won't have this weakness or susceptibilty anymore then the world would be vastly different than it currently is ... oh give this a rest and come back to it when your mind is a bit fresher ... :)

Hadi's comment makes me take a fresh look at the wingmakers site - there is a download page - here

... and a discussion community ... :)

From which come this: "Reality is the boundary an individual places between the acceptable and the unacceptable"

and the art/philosophy/poetry stands alone regardless of whether you believe the 'story' about its origin ...

and there is this site - communicate directly with the wingmakers

where they say they'll be addin stuff ... in the future ...

Today's mantra: "I am not here on this planet to be what somebody else expects me to be"

May 12, 2001   '

Some more ideas ...

"I have a firm grip on reality"
"Oh, you poor thing. I hope you get better real soon."

Today's mantra: "I have discovered that human experiences happen for no logical reason at all"

www.angelfire.com/wv/geoall/cheryl4.html

... could form the basis of some more writing ... but as I say, just HOW much of those experiences were choice and what % were 'chance' ... and if I can't spellout 'how' I got from where I was to where I am and if it didn't even seem like a conscious 'decision' to change/transform ... how much use could that be to anyone else except as curiosity value ... hmmm ... and the psychotic periods ... how can anyone BEGIN to imagine what that's like if you have nothing similar to 'measure' it against ... hmmm ... and discussing that early feeling I had about the 'missing dimension of experience' ... and who do you ask for advice if everyone you know is in the same (leaky) boat ...

"I'm not mad - I'm Jesus bloody Christ"

"Where is my scary little lifetime"

May 13, 2001   '

A bit slow at forum ... posted wingmakers poetry as 59968 ...

Florence Scovel Shinn - for forum ... mate ...

In the first chapter -

Speak these words aloud, with power and conviction: "I now smash and demolish (by my spoken word) every untrue record in my subconscious mind. They shall return to the dust-heap of their native nothingness, for they came from my own vain imaginings. I now make my perfect records through the Christ within -- The records of Health, Wealth, Love and perfect self-Expression." This is the square of life, The Game completed

... add to bunyip ...

Yet, just now I'd feel silly, self-conscious or real awkward & uncomfortable doing that aloud ... to be perfectly honest ... which may be precisely ...

The phrase 'scissors of the mind' is right on the money ...

and chapter ten - the reference to 'idle words' ... hmmm ...

This site has more of Florence's stuff and a lot else besides ...

... including more links to visionary artisits ... including guess who! :) & WingMakers as well! Unreal.

And their 'temple of mankind' link has 'the game of life' ... unrealer.

Plus ... Operation Dandelion - to help heal the planet ... somethin that 3 years ago I would have been absolutely ROLLING on the floor at the ridiculousness of such an idea to shift the minds of men ... hmmm ...

This search tosses up some interesting ...

Including this list of 'essential poetry'

Email form World Puja - a live webcast from the upcoming 'prophet's conference' May 20 ...

Rainer Maria Rilke Poetry Archive

Reading over the forum - yes, I know where some people are 'coming from' ... it CAN be painful to watch others struggle with negativity and the victim/unfair mentality becomes a self=fulfilling, self-reinforcing VIEW of reality ... and having been there so LONG myself, what can I possibly say because it aint as if I said to myself, 'Hang on a second. This isn't working. I'll transform myself.' ...

gum tree hollows

TONS on long walk - one of last warm, sunny days for a while? -

{a bit of a downer actually! but fought it off & held it at bay}

"That may not be the healthiest way of looking at things"

"Reality is open to many interpretations {an infinite number actually}. It's up to each individual to seek out and select the one which is healthiest for them in any given moment."

(The above could be today's mantra. I'm not sure just yet. let me get back to you on that one.)

{Good poem title that - 'In any given moment'}

As I said a BIT of a downer after being buoyant for quite a while - we DO tend to take things for granted even after all this time ...

"I reckon most people are struggling one way or another, they may just be better at putting on a brave face and in the end that may not actually be terribly healthy thing to do ..."

More on recent themes ... I never cease to be amazed at how many ways there are on conveying basi=cally the SAME message. Namely that judging others CANNOT ever produce happiness, so it's mass insanity for us to keep doin it ...

"If they want to waste their time & emotional energy by filling their minds with negative thoughts about me and the way I live then I feel very sad for them. I shall make a point of including them in my prayers."

{Because I know JUST what it is like to do as they are doing and how totally poisonous it is}

"I'm amazed that ANYBODY stays remotely sane. This really is a totally ridiculous way for human beings to live."

{TONS more walking round the Dandenong Plaza on a glorious day ... but rain is on its way}

Much of which i didn't bother writing down ...

"We have very creative minds. We can always come up with a justification for judging others. Nevertheless, judging ALWAYS has consequences and they are NEVER pleasant. They can be instructive becuase there is learning potential in every choice we make even the decision to judge another."

And one of the BIG consequences of being judgemental is that you wwill tend to push people AWAY from you and they will be less likely to seek out your company and may be reluctant to spend much time with you. Let's face it, most of us are not saints and we still have a way to go with inner disarmament. So, for most people, being judged is one thing that really pushes our buttons, so to speak.

{This line of thought could be fleshed out further - may be the seeds of an entire piece? with a title like 'Judge for yourself' ...

"When most human beings spend so much time judging their fellow human beings, you create a world with so much TENSION it is almost unbearable. Some people will find it literally unbearable."

"Ultimately everyone has to turn within. But it usually only happens after a person has exhausted all possible avenues in the external world and found that NONE of them had what they were seeking ..."

Here is the Australiasian branch of that Damanhur site i had a peek at yesterday ...

Gum tree hollows - the explanation on Burke's Backyard last friday was fascinating - apparently tree surgeons had been getting it all wrong in treating what they figured was a 'disease' or 'imperfection' ... sounds awfully familiar!

... let alone the impact on native wildlife that needs the hollows and the tree needs them to use its hollows ... I know the feeling ...

Today's mantra: "My doctor wants me to play thankyou from the lifetimes"

Not to mention the didjeridoos that are made from the hollowed out branches ...

Going over my journal entries ... some intrstin results from a search of the opening line of 'Law of Life'. As you'd expect, the sites which have posted such material, especially if it's a 'personal' page of stuff that has helped them along the way ... CLICK and so far only checked out a few of the first 18 or so results n that search ... my loyal readers may care to explore further. Be my guest.

www.mothernature.com - from a spot of research into allergies to macadamia nuts & the possibility of anaphylaxis even when eating a small amount of the food ... in fact quite an exyensive list of articles and books in their online 'library' ... worth a potter around ...

From a recent email - Centre Point - worth checking out - a 'free' demo ... I mean the still latent cynic in me says 'they all' make such claims ... and if it TRULY would transform the consciousness & negativity of humanity why NOT make it freeely available to all ... hmmm ... I sure would, but what do I know?

and they all sound 'too good to be true' - and maybe THAT is one of humanity's limiting beliefs. Namely, that life just doesn't work like that ... reality is a tough & scary place ...

I put most of the email recommendations here ... thanks to Bob Scheinfeld ... (the more curious among you may care to plug his name into your favourite search engine)

Yes, just outside now mowing the lawn ... how does one NOT get jealous or feel 'inferior' when some people seem 'instantly transformed' while others struggle with negativity & never seem to make headway ...

Then another email also mentions "The Invisible Path" ... spoooky ... actually, might not be all that unexpected, I think I got Bob's site from the same source as that email ... :)

{Starbuilders, Monroe Institute, Flight Waves, where else ... } Monroe's is called Hemi-Sync ...

I mean the money issue is a BIG one - one could say the most in NEED are those who probly won't have the ready cash to spluge ... which is a kind of catch-22 ...

From that huge collection of dolphin links ... the art of Christian Reese Lassen - very flashy site (no pun intended)

Send this link to any dolphin fans at the forum? ...

I like 'Eternity II' & 'A perfect world' ...

... and 'Miracle of life' aint bad either ...

And as so often happens with this internet thingy - among those dolphin links are pages or more dolphin links ... :)

How nature makes music

Click here for list of sites I may submit for next ERMHA Murmur ...

Yes, the Golden key - a while since I had really given it a good read (and there are levels of reading just as there are levels of attention) ... and wondering (a) If it would be published (b) how many in the mental health field would regard it {I once would have rolled on the floor!} ... I mean if ever ANY situation or 'problem' is absolutely crying out for a Golden key it's this one ... Yet, I can fully imagine most 'professionals' would actually declare it 'irresponsible' & 'dnagerous' to tell vulnerable people to put their faith in such 'hocus pocus' ... sadly ...

All of which reminds me of Mira's book ... {May be best to right click on that link and select 'Save target as', because it is a 600k document in Microsoft Word format}

Following yesterday's themes ... Click here for what I may post to forum in a day or so ...

and in fact i post it as 59983 :)

More (seemingly) random thoughts drifting through the canyons of my mind -

"But we do block it out ... we have to ... if you sat down and thought about all the seemingly unfair and unjust things happening in the world ... you'd go mad ..."

"Well, you start using words like obscene and you open up a pandora's box. One might say that it is obscene for anyone to spend money on things they don't absolutely need while there are little kiddies starving to death." {Overheard a comment that a bank's profit was obscene}

"Getting angry is not a natural reaction. It's the reaction that has been programmed into most people by their environment and upbringing. Sadly, very few ever contemplate the posibility of rewriting their programming. Anger is based on a complete misunderstanding of reality."

"I don't take opinions seriously. Mine or anyone elses'. The very fact that there is a wide range of opinions on any given subject shows you that they are just arbitrary personal preferences, heavily coloured by individual experience. But very few people ever see their own oopinions in this light."

Like we need ANOTHER link - well try reading this page and getting nothing out of it -

Anthony De Mello - especially the bit about people don;t really want to be cured! ... :)

His books include 'One Minute Wisdom' & 'One Minute Nonsense' ...

Today's mantra: "I don't even care if my life is very strange"

After an email enquiry - What is ANZAC day?

More email topics for mulling - choice & opinion & state-of-mind - prophecy & what that says about the nature of reality - our attitude/belief about death - and the way we speak about it betrays the underlying beliefs? - such as 'lost his life' - nobody ever says his spirit departed its temporary vehicle ...

It would seem that the Trufax site is only in operation till June 1st ?? due to being sponsoored by user donations

Yes, it would be sad to see a website devoted to 'the Quest for Truth and Accuracy in Information on what's happening in the Universe and on the Nature of Reality' fall by the wayside ...

So ... note down a few of the contributors/authors - I like Chris Largent's quote on the front page about 'the true nature of reality, which is infinite and surpasses our most advanced ideas' ... it mentions that fabulous movie The Matrix and a book called 'Matrix V' ...

Some of the sites mentioned -

The art of Arthur Saarinen

Matrix V

... may need to do trufax.htm ... at some stage ... :)

... in fact why not at least save the front page as it has heaps I'm too lazy to transcribe ... click ...

A further quote - 'Most of the population seems to be asleep, on a social and genetic "autopilot". A great number of individuals, however, are not asleep, and view the system with either contempt or mixed amusement.'

Interesting titles in the new TSP catalog -

* A new one by the author of Cave In The Snow, interviewing various people about why they have turned to Buddhism ...

* 'Bark' - a collection of poetry about dogs

* Stephen King 'On Writing' - after he was in hospital recuperating from a serious accident he wrote the story of how he got into writing at a very early age and the trials & tribulations along the way ...

Interesting scan or Dr Weil's dial - reminds me muchly of our former glorious leader :)

Green Peace rings ... I should visit their site more frequently ... and feature it in my links lists ... Green Peace Australia

More random dialogue -

"If you feel this need to have everyone think the same way you do, that's actually a sign of enormous personal insecurity." {Or if you get hot-under-the-collar whenever you encounter an individual whose view of reality varies significantly from your own}

"When you approach ANY relationship from a perceived sense of personal need or lack, what you end up with is ATTACHMENT, not love."

"You see being upset as a natural consequence. I don't. Getting upset only occurs when you have made you happiness conditional. You have said to yourself, 'I'll be happy if things go according to this little plan I have in my head.' So, when they don't go according to this totally arbitrary plan in your head, there is a tendency to get upset. this is nothing new. Human beings have been driving themselves nuts with this method for thousands of years. It's a foolproof way to make yourself miserbale. Make your happiness conditional and you'll spend your whole life chasing it and never quite catching it." {Needs work but you can see where I'm going}

To cap a BIG day - and the release date is just a week away but how's this for a claim! -

"It is the only book on the planet that tells the whole truth about the Higher Self and human incarnations, ancient manipulation of human DNA , the genderization of the human body, the mechanics of incarnation and detailed information on the realms which we perceive when we become independent of the body after physical death. This book decodes earth reality, as well as the reality beyond the earth experience, in a way that has never been achieved in human literature"

Referring of course to Matrix 5

... shall i tell the folks at the forum ?? :)

It goes on to say that their explorations exceed anything done by Monroe ... :)

Yet, one of their earlier volumes (Matrix III) says: 'For anyone who wonders exactly how Western Civilization ever got into the position it is in today, the answer lies within the pages of this work'

Some of their other titles, plugged into Google lead me here - Spiritual Science, which also has free chapters online ...

... which has 'links you can't possibly live without'. Now even I have never dared say that!

... one of which is WolfLodge and has links to "some of the most outstanding Artists that ever have been or will be" ...

... and some excellent links at Robert Ghost Wolf's page ... argh ... :) ... like www.alienzoo.com & wisdomofsolomon.com ...

Plugged Chris Largent into a search engin and found 'Why Our Social Systems Violate Human Potential' - I'd agree with that! ... which opens with a question i have often lamented: 'How can we get healthy when our social system is sick?' ...

Hall of records

Interesting image from one of those sites

Decided to post matrix 5 as # 59986 ... :)

Wisdom of Solomon has some neat stuff too ... like 'many truths' ... which is how I've always seen it (in the past two-and-a-bit years, anyway) ... and 'expanding consciousness through music' ...

Plus Our natural need to get high ... I'd agree with that - but best by FAR to do it 'naturally', but we do almost NOTHING naturally in this hi-tech, insane paradigm ...

Today's mantra: "Milk is the sudden reminder of life"

April 2001      Journal Menu      May 16th onward

Lovely pic from Rose's birthday in 2000 - Olivia & Rose in the kitchen at Bunyip looking angelic - the kind of photo that invariably evokes the comment 'Isn't it a shame they have to grow up' ...
