Note: 1. Full Internet subscribers can hold two email accounts by applying for the Associate Internet subscription as well.
To have it set up, you need to fill in the application form in PC Update and send it to the office. They will mail you with username (from your list of preferences on form), password and email address. You can send and download email for the Associate account while you are logged on to your Full account. You will need to set up another account and/or identity in your email software. 'Sample Configuration for popular Email and News software' in the Melb PC FAQs shows details of how to do this.
If you have a domain name, or are thinking of registering for one, and want to store your web pages on Melb PC's server, you will have to find someone to host your domain name and redirect http requests to your Melb PC URL.
Setting up username/password and secure connection is simple in Outlook Express but it is not shown on the Melb PC FAQs yet. A good reference is the article Accessing Melb PC Newsgroups from Another ISP by Ash Nallawalla that appeared in the April 2001 issue of PC Update.
Unfortunately Agent and Free Agent do not support secure connections natively. You need to use Stunnel which i am testing NOW.
To use Agent or Free Agent, configure as shown in Configuring Free Agent in the Melb PC FAQ and then complete the User tab in General Preferences dialog box as shown below.
I will put something HERE about configuring Stunnel SOON (by 10th April i hope)
