Exhibition of Acrylic Paintings  Kuala Lumpur 1998

 Maybank Collection

 I held an exhibition of LANDSCAPES OF AUSTRALIA at Balai Seni, the art  gallery of Menara Maybank in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The exhibition was jointly sponsored by the Australian High Commission in KL and Maybank.The show ran from April 14th to April 30th.The exhibition was opened by YB Datin Paduka Zaleha Ismail, a Malaysian Government Minister. Also in attendance were Dato Richard Ho the Vice Chairman of Maybank and H.E. Robert Cotton, the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia. The gallery is known as Balai Seni Maybank .The three paintings shown are in the collection of   Menara Maybank, Kuala Lumpur). Most of  the 40 works exhibited were acrylic on paper.

All these three paintings are acrylic on paper. I often use Indian ink to add lines.
The paintings are based onf trips to various parts of Australia. Colour, texture,
vastness and diversity are characteristic of Australia.  I use the title Rhapsody
for paintings that are songs of the landscape.
