The Forgiveness of Sins
The fact that God is everywhere means all is God, which means that each of us is God. Our earthly existence mandates that our ego is predominantly aware and focused on our everyday material and emotional world. In our sleep or meditations we can touch on the hidden worlds with consciousness seemingly traversing time and space with ease.
In the planes of Soul, each of us continually create pacts between each other to give each other (in our mortal bodies) interactions and experiences so that the personalities of the incarnate forms may grow in consciousness. These pacts or contracts vary greatly in kind, e.g. two souls may choose to have earth-lives as brothers so that they may have a plethora of interactions, from quarrels and fisticuffs as 10 year olds, to mature mutual respect and assistance in old age. But other pacts are, at first consideration, quite shocking - e.g. the pact between murdered and the murderer, the drunken driver and the killed pedestrian, or between a bully and a victim, or a pact of hateful interactions between devotees of different religions. From an earthly viewpoint, events may appear horrific, but from a divine perspective, all IS perfect as all provides the growth experiences for the unfoldment of the innate divinity in every incarnate man, woman and child.
In the general run of this law of pacts, karma rules as personalities play tit-for-tat. It is only at a heightened stage, and when asked for (consciously or unconsciously), the karmic laws can be, and are short-circuited. The karmic laws are not broken, it is just that the reflection of the particular karma happens in the twinkling of an eye, when, at an elevated level of consciousness, the soul pair involved complete the karmic lesson in the minutest instant of deep recognition. The term given for this phenomena is "Forgiveness of Sin". Usually (if not always), the obliteration of sin is through the intervention and light of a Master such as Jesus.
The dividend of karma does not have to be lived over lengthy time of physical experience; for the disciple, for the "born again", the remnants of karmic returns can be experienced as awareness flashes, often called "initiations". The highly spiritual process involved is used today by many enlightened Masters, just as the training for, and practice, was common in ancient Egypt. These Initiations are often accompanied by very powerful emotions of the deepest love, of humility, of renewal of faith, and of a sense of deepened understanding (cosmic consciousness). Often tears of joy are shed. The negative bind between the pacted soul pair is burnt, freeing the two souls for further living and growth. For a particular person undergoing the deepest "forgiveness of sin", the process may ripple instantly and burn hundreds if not thousands of negative binds to souls pacted to him.
The process may repeat numerous times until all negative binds are burnt. Only then can the incarnate person truly exclaim "I am free. I am reborn. I most humbly thank you, Lord God of Love". His mortal existence, if he chooses to live steadily in the Will of God, is then one of continuous love, grace and joy in aligned service to all. (God is only served through one's service to the human, animal, vegetable and mineral kingdoms. God is not served through inaction.)
A key factor in the above is that no man can obliterate the sins of another, however, a Master such as Jesus can be the guide and the enhancer for the above reconciliation process. Furthermore, as The Christ IS one with God, He has the capacity to say "I forgive your sins" as He is speaking from the hearts and consciousness of every person you have sinned against. He echoes their response to your deep and sincere request for forgiveness of your sins.
(There are numerous examples in the Bible and other sacred texts that the free will of man, i.e. man's choice, determines liberation or not. The gift of divine assistance is never given unless asked either consciously or unconsciously.)

TRADITIONAL CHRISTIANS: Study The Aquarian Gospel Of Jesus The Christ (ISBN: 0-87516-168-5) and the earliest versions of the Bible, and you will see that in no place do they support the false doctrine that the death of Jesus expurgated our sins. He died for our sins only to the extent that He died due to the murderous acts of some ancestors of ours. No punishment of a person or god can ever correct the evil of another. The one who did wrong must always make amends to the recipient. This process is by karma, then by the above described process.
