We need look no further than our personal environment to face who we currently are. Do we get angry with family members? Do we enjoy violent films or play violent video games? Do we swear at drivers that irritate us? How insecure do we feel? (Do we habitually purchase wants instead of just needs? Do we hoard instead of allowing goods to freely flow for others' use? Do we rape the planet's resources?) Do we trust God to provide our necessities? Are we truly grateful for the infinite blessings we already receive? Or do we habitually want more and more, to the extent that to satisfy our desires, we are expecting others to work for a pittance in third world countries, and project anger and resistance when they rebel against their poverty and exploitation?
We must inevitably accept that in our human nature, we are a wide mix of lesser qualities with higher, spiritual qualities, and that how we impact our world is set by our decisive activity. And what rules that activity? Let it be transcended from selfishness to love of all, the divine love such as Jesus and other great beings have demonstrated. Thus, it is now essential that we each voluntarily recognize the futility of rampant indulgent "free" will, and that it is mandatory to strive to transform ourselves to our highest, wisest, activity.
To this end, to aid our personal transformations, I offer the following prayer. I suggest we say this, and feel this, as frequently as possible throughout every day.
I unconditionally love all humans, animals, and our world.
Every day, i am more attuned to God as i actively obey God, prioritizing better, and doing my work diligently.
Every day, my health, memory, knowledge, wisdom and skills improve to suit my loving service to God.
I am blessed; i am grateful."
"Every day, i am more deeply in love with God in all ways.
So why is this such a powerful method of making the world better? My answer is that it is next to impossible to change someone else, so let my focus be on transforming myself. As frequently as I think or say this prayer, my daily activity cannot help but be influenced positively. In this manner, each day I will make a few steps, and God will take me the next thousand.
Now multiply this by the billions on this planet who also have every reason to strive for self-improvement, and we have dissolved the cause of war. As the war within each is quenched, so will the war external end. The Golden Age will dawn. It is our choice whether it is sooner rather than later. Please help.
